BT SPORT : FA Cup Quarter Finals Opener

Overview: After completing the UCL Round of 16, GH M&D was tasked with creating an opener for the FA Cup 2021 Quarter Finals. The original idea was to create visuals that would build and add excitement as the piece progressed adding anticipation to reflect the drama of the FA Cup.

Using shot footage of the trophy, I began by creating kaleidoscope caveats that could be integrated into the edit. Each was styilized and built within After Effects using the HexaTile plugin, shape layers and various glows and treatments.

Wanting to take this project to the next level, I began creating exciting shots within Cinema 4D. Using a model of the trophy and applying laser texture treatments and volumetric passes we began creating something that would really tie in well with the 2D elements I had created already. The marriage of the two created something aesthetically pleasing that I felt did justice to the FA Cup and all it represents. The editor did a fantastic job with my renders and really took it to the next level/
